Really Blossom

"Our opinions do not really blossom into fruition until we have expressed them to someone else." - Mark Twain

Printing MindManager Maps

Printing MindManager maps can pose a challenge. Typical paper (in the US) is 8 1/2" x 11" while the potential size of a map is much, much larger. When you print a map using the default settings the application keeps the overall shape of the map and shrinks it down so that it can fit on your specified size of paper. Large maps can become unreadable on normal size pieces of paper. What should you do?

 If the map is large I recommend printing the main topic that will be discussed.

1. Highlight the main topic

2. Go to Detail - Show all Levels from the toolbar

3.  Go to File - Print and under Range select "Primary selected Topic". Under Scaling I recommend selecting "One Page: Do not fit to page if map is smaller" (so that the section of the map will not print inexplicitly large).

In general the best option is to collaborate on the map inside the application and encourage your colleagues to purchase MindManager or at least download the free viewer.

I think this workaround is unacceptable.

After all this time, we shouldn't need to work around one of the basic flaws in MindManager.  Someone at MindJet needs to make a decision on putting some resource into improving the print capability of MindManager.

I've been saying this for years, but I don't know that anyone is listening.

1. More flexibility to print out a map to fit an A4/Letter page. We

know what we want, the software doesn't let us do it. Want to love

using MindManager more?

2. Zag as well as Zig. Sub-Topics that go in the opposite direction

to the parent topic, and that can be angled. That way we can fit more

on! Oh and can we have floating topics that Left Map not just Right Map?

3. Allow topics and sub topics to overlap. This used to be allowed

with previous versions. That way we can fit more on!
