1.0.9: OneNote 2007 Integration with MindManager Pro 7: Send To MindManager, OneNote Hyperlinks in MindManager, and Notebook Hierarchy Mapping

Information Version 1.0.9 (2/14/2008)

Check This demonstrates a synergistic relationship between two applications, Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 and Mindjet MindManager Pro 7:

  • From MindManager, you can easily map out the Notebooks, Section Groups, Sections, Pages, and Subpages, including hyperlinks:
    Select Add-Ins Tab...OneNote 2007 Notebooks.
  • From MindManager, you can send the current map to OneNote as an image that you can sketch on and annotate:
Select MindManager MindManager...Export...Microsoft Office OneNote 2007.
  • From OneNote, you can send a page to MindManager as a hyperlinked topic:
Press the Send to MindManager MindManager button on the Standard toolbar in OneNote.

Arrow Up The hierarchy of OneNote 2007 notebooks, sections, and pages in MindManager

Arrow Up A MindManager map in OneNote that you can sketch on.

Do either/both OneNote and MM have to be registered versions, or can this add-in be used w/ trial versions? I can see the add-in via OneNote, but can't add it (it will not appear in the MM Options\Add-Ins list) via MM.

I am assuming you are aware that the One Note module for MM 7 only allows for importing from One Note while in MM and exporting to MM while in One Note. As far as I can see you cannot get a MM map over to One Note. Are there plans for fixing this?

My appologies, upon restarting my computer, the One Note 2007 MM 7 integration module works exactly as described. 8 )

hello all: I am trying to duplicate this issue at my end. I was able to only duplicate it by clicking the MM icon from the onenote toolbar. Can you please email me the steps that you followed? It is going to help me rectify the problem. You can email me at labs at mindjet.com. regards, vivek

I got this too. Some more details. Hope this helps: Version OneNote 2007 (12.0.4518.1014) Version MindManager Pro 7 7.1.388 Steps: 1) Open One Note. 2) Keep Mind Manager Closed. 3) Click on a notebook, with cursor not highlighting any text. 4) Click the mind manager icon in one note. 5) Receive error. ----I went through the documentation and verified everything is installed properly, except one thing. I did not see "Open>File>One Note" in my MindManager Install. I have a CLR debugger and here is what it told me: An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException' occurred in mscorlib.dll Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'Mindjet.MindManager.Interop, Version=7.0.429.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=19247b5ea06b230f' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I just installed MindManager 7 21day trial in order to tryout the OneNote 2007 Integration with MindManager Pro 7. I am using the latest version of OneNote 2007 Integration with MindManager Pro 7 (1.0.9). I have no problem sending from OneNote 2007 to MindManager, opening a OneNote Page from within MindManager or sending an image of a MindManager map to OneNote. However, I cannot Map a OneNote Notebook/Section/Page Hierarchy from MindManager. Can someone give more specific instructions how this is done? The instructions in the MindManager ReadMe doesn't seem to work. Please answer here and email me at sdbpastor@charter.net Thanks, Michael

I uninstalled "1.0.9: OneNote 2007 Integration with MindManager Pro 7" and reinstalled it and it now seems to work ok for the most part. However, I am getting one odd error. If Mindmanager is closed and I send a page from OneNote to MindManager I get an error when it creates the OneNote page in MindManager. The error says that it cannot open sys\spell\sscream.tlx.. If I just clcik OK it goes on and works fine. If MindManager is already open and I send a page from OneNote, I do not get the error. Any ideas? Please respond here and to my email address at sdbpastor@charter.net Thanks, Michael

Please can I get hold of the source code, I'd like to add the option that when an image of the current map is pasted into the onenote page, the map is also embedded so we can open/save/close to the onenote page.

the OneNote integration represents a valuable enhancement to MM as it allows for building maps in three dimensions. any efforts to embed MM within OneNote would be valuable to anyone doing serious planning.

This is really brilliant! Is there any way to create a notebook/section/page in OneNote from MindJet? It is much easier to plan out the structure of OneNote information in MindJet, then use OneNote to fill in the text and pictures, before exporting to Word/ Publisher. I can only see how to create the structure then export it to OneNote as a drawing, or export to Word to fill in the bits (writing of which, how's integration going with Word - what I'd really like is to be able to switch between the two a bit like an enhanced version of MS Word outline view only with the ability to include a subject word WITHIN a paragraph rather than as the subject line of a paragraph)

Cool. Installed it and it's all good (using OneNote 2007 and MindManager Pro 7). However... I've created a hyperlink to a OneNote page in my map and the hyperlink displays a small image of the page as well as the Hyperlink button. I would like the image to be hidden. Is there any way to do that?
