1.0.10: A plug-in for Google Desktop Search that searches in MindManager X5 and MindManager 6 Maps.

Arrow Down Installation
  • Download and Install Google Desktop Search.
  • Download and install this Plug-in. During the installation, select the option to install it for "Just Me".

  • 2/13/2007 Fixed a problem with installation; YOU MUST SELECT "JUST ME" WHEN INSTALLING. 
  • 1/22/2007 Updated to add better event logging. 
  • 1/16/2007 Fixed bug in Installer that was preventing installation on some systems. 
  • 1/2/2007 Fixed a typo in the Readme file (thanks to Michał Kastelik) 
  • 12/13/2006 Updated installer to run on Windows Vista

Make sure you install it in C:\Program Files\Mindjet\. It does not work in F:\Mindjet\. I use a partioned drive for all my program files. Works marvellously now.

An amendment to the above. If you install to a folder other than C:\Program Files\ Mindjet Follow the failure to register instructions and amend to for instance: regsvr32 "f:\Mindjet\Google Desktop Search Plug-in\MindManagerPlugin.dll" and then it works for me.

Some people have reported problems with Google Google Desktop 5.0.0612.17663-en-pb where it would not index .mmap files. This is a confirmed problem with Google Desktop and a new build with that fixed should be up on http://desktop.google.com/ within the next couple weeks.

I can confirm this, it's not working with GDS. The other thing I would test is, what happens when you unistall GDS, but leave the plugin there, and then reinstall GDS. I'm not sure what's expected behavior, but it would be smart to have it somehow check for that and if it's not going to work, to remind user to reinstall MM plugin.

I did install the plug-in as recommended ("just me", MindManagerPlugin.dll registration okay etc). However, my GDS 5.1.0707.23222 doesn't handle the mmap files correctly, I'm geeting lots of "Error Found handling file..." messages from Windows' event viewer. Any clue?
