Hello!

Are there any add-ons for Mind Manager? I am interested especiall in creating WBS.

Recently we created a new project managemnt methodology. In the beginning we use MM for brainstormings and creation of list of outpust for the project. Later we are creating WSB, Gannt, etc. But now we have to do it manually. If we find something new in e.g. gannt, we have to change it manually again in all other documents (mindmap, WBS, etc.). Therefore it would be great to have some tool for creating WBS directly from mind map in Mind Manager.

Is there any way/any advice?

JCV Gantt Pro2 creates a Gantt from the MindManager map. There are other solutions (check MindManager website) but JCV Gantt has the big advantage to be sync in real time with MM. Meaning you can have the same project open both in mind map and gantt views on 2 screens, a change on either form is immediately seen on the other. I find it very useful. 

JCV Gantt is working fine BUT if the projects bekomming big (more than 90 WP, documentation, projects within the WP and actions) and the number of topics will rise JCV has real performance problems. In my projects I´m fully trust on MM but because of the perpformance problems I won´t use JCV anymore.

I sent a support call to JCV telling them the problem but until now...

Maybe MS Project Linker could be a way for you. But you need to run it on MS Server and MS Project Server - which is not suitable for me.

 JCVGantt is a gnatt solutions designed to work with MindManager!!! You should definately use that!  you can downloade if from iaresearch.com

JCVGantt Pro3 (the version working with MM7) has no problem handling a much greater number of tasks.

Anyway, for the sake of project management visibility, it is better not to stack too many tasks one above the other, but to have several levels of details, each being shown separately (macro project plan, then for each major sub-project its own plan, then details of tasks...). This is easier to do now with the "show branch alone" and "focus on topic" commands of MM7, producing the related Gantt in the same time in JCV Gantt.

You should check out fastworksProject at http://code.google.com/p/fastworksproject. It's a free download for MS Project. There are numerous ways to build a WBS and one of the methods supported is with MindManager.

To get the most out of it, recommend you follow the methodology (it's not just about tools) available form the web-site www.fastworks.us > Tools > fastworksProject > fastworksProject User Guides > fastworks planning tutorial.pdf. It's a step-by-step walkthrough of the methodology using MindManager as the front-end to create the WBS. It then dumps into MS Project then it continues through to breakdown, update and pull-in your schedule as well as Trend analysis. It really takes the complexity out of creating and tracking schedules.
